The Old Virginia Smokehouse started in April 2010 out of a roadside trailer. The trailer grew into the first location in Pearisburg, VA. We have now moved to Pembroke, VA and we have much more room and parking to server the football crowds that have grown accustomed to our food.
We will offer daily homecooked specials to add to our variety. We continue to serve our famous BBQ, brisket, chicken, and ribs.
Chris Via learned the art of slow smoking meats over hickory and oak wood and brought his skill to the public. Angie Via has always been a good cook with numerous southern recipes passed down from her family in Florida.
Chris makes the sauces and the Brunswick stew which he learned from Ricki Robinson and the Robinson family of Brunswick and Greenville County Virginia.
Charlie Corder joined in 2012 and brought a few recipes with him including his Mountain Sauce. Charlie is also a wing expert.
Most BBQ traditions in South West Virginia involve chicken. Most of our experience is with chicken, but when Chris and his dad lived in Florida they discovered other styles of BBQ such as pork and ribs.
